There are many disabled people in Uganda - polio, childhood diseases, etc.
We distributed these clothes donated by the Berry children to the Disabled
Childrens' Group here in Kijura Village (a glorified slum), and they were very
grateful.  Who says "hand me downs" can't find a wonderful new home?
Baptism at Labango Church
Baptism at Rwamadopyo Church
This is the recently abandoned Kabaleega Primary School building, adjacent to the big
field project, and next to our home.  Nobody wants the building anymore, so it's a good
location for training the catechists and lay leaders of the diocese.  As you can see from
the pictures, it needs a new set of timbers in the roof, but the iron sheets are still alright.
  (Next year's restoration project).
I took the picture of the little girls
bringing their offering to Sunday
school (eggplants) at Labango
Church (that day, i think i did 26
baptisms? - (it starts to run
together after a while).
I just like the picture, and want to
use it as the lead off for this
month's newsletter.
This is a nursery school being run
at Ntooma Parish, the second farm
project that i started last year.  It's
exciting to see three classes of
kids, but the building is pretty
basic.  However, all the kids seem
very happy.
An acre of onions at Kasangoire
church - buyers are already
coming.
An acre plus of upland rice at
Kabango church, to be harvested
sometime in December.
The graduating class (minus one).
The girl walking in the picture was
so excited she could hardly stand
it, Because she had just won a
new sewing machine from a raffle
conducted at the graduation.  She
had to leave her normal schooling
because her father died (lack of
school fees), and so now that she
is trained as a tailor, she can
support herself and her four
younger sisters.
The first boy to graduate
from the Tailoring School,
together with his mom
and dad (the former
bishop's chaplain)
The picture is of Phili and
son Willy, taken at his
school near Kampala.
